Directory of common dispatch features

TMW Operations supports two dispatch methods.

  • Non shift-based dispatch
You can update trips of any length on the Order Maintenance window, Trip Folder, and the Planning Worksheet. Functionality in these windows is not tied to drivers' schedules.

  • Shift-based dispatch
For short haul clients, trips are no longer than one day. Dispatch is determined by drivers' daily shifts. The Trip Planner is used solely for this purpose.

For either dispatch method, you can create orders on the Order Maintenance window. However, to assign resources, your company must use either the non shift-based dispatch windows (Trip Folder and Planning Worksheet), or the Trip Planner.

This portion of the help file provides information on features that are shared between two or more dispatch windows.
