Warnings

Minimum technical requirements for 17.50 or higher warning

To upgrade from a build lower than 17.50 to 17.50 or higher, you must follow these steps.

  1. Notify your Support team that you will upgrade. (As noted in Step 4, they will need to work with you to complete the installation process.)

  2. Verify that your environment adheres to these minimum technical requirements:

    • Microsoft .NET Framework version 4.6.2 must be installed.

    • Client operating systems must be at Windows 7 SP1 or higher.

    • Server operating systems must be at Windows Server 2012 or higher.

    • In addition, verify that your system adheres to the additional requirements listed in the General requirements section for the build you are upgrading to.

  3. Run the TMW Operations installation program.

  4. Before any users attempt to use TMW Operations, call your Support representative to have them update your Planning Worksheet boards.

Trimble Transportation has added columns to the system default Planning Worksheet views to enhance the inline editing feature. These columns also must be added to all custom views. Support will perform this step for you at no cost.

Case sensitive passwords warning

Starting with V.17.50, the system treats all passwords as case sensitive. This includes existing passwords.

This change affects how you log in with an existing password:

  • If your password was created with [Misc]CaseSensitivePasswords=OFF in your TTS50, you must enter that password in all upper case characters.

  • If your password was created with [Misc]CaseSensitivePasswords=ON in your TTS50, you can enter that password as you originally recorded it (case sensitive).

Requirements

Before you begin installing TMW Operations version 2018.3, check that these requirements are met:

  • TMWSuite®
You must be using TMWSuite V. 2018.3.0.0021 or later.

  • TMW Back Office
If you are using TMW Back Office, your version of TMW Operations must be the same as your version of TMW Back Office.

  • Microsoft® .NET Framework
NET Framework 4.6.2 or later (full package not client)

The framework must be installed on the TMW Operations server, client, and administrator systems before you install TMW Operations. If it is not present, the system displays an advisory message during the installation. Install the framework before running the application.

  • Internet Information Services (IIS) for Microsoft® Windows Server®
IIS Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 or later

  • Microsoft® SQL Server®

    • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or later

NOTE: SQL Server 2014 and SQL Server 2016 are supported. TMW recommends using the latest service pack of whichever version you use.

  • You must be logged into the system where you want to install TMW Operations, and have administrator rights for that system.
Like most applications, TMW Operations can be installed locally on a user’s system. It is also possible to install TMW Operations on a network drive. To do so, you must be logged into the system where the drive is physically located, and have administrator rights for that system.

  • SQL Server System Administrator rights are necessary.
The installation of TMW Operations includes the manual application of a SQL script to the TMWSuite database. You must have a SQL Server administrator login and password to apply it.

Enhancements

Data grids

Customizing double-click functionality - (NSUITE-202820, NSUITE-202898)

The system frequently displays data in the form of a spreadsheet-like grid.

By default, double-clicking a row in some grids opens the selected record in a new window. For example, when you double-click an order in the Order Scroll, the system opens the order in a new window.

Now, you can set up grids so that different cell types can provide different results when double-clicked. For example, double-clicking:

  • An order cell could open the order

  • A company or resource cell could open the appropriate profile

Note: You can even specify which tab in the profile should be visible by default.

  • A particular cell could open a hyperlink, web browser, or SSRS report

Note: When using this feature in a cell that uses the instant best match functionality, you must double click the arrow, not the text in the cell.

Planning Worksheet

Asset Manager tab added in the Planning Worksheet - (NSUITE-202819, NS-1404, NSUITE-201674, and NSUITE-201675)

The Asset Manager tab looks and functions similar to the Planning Worksheet’s Inbound tab. However, the tab is set up so that asset managers can monitor their fleet’s current activity while having quick access to planned activity.

There are a few differences between the Asset Manager tab and the Inbound tab. The Asset Manager tab:

  • Uses parent/child row functionality to simplify the list of trips displayed

    • The parent rows list the active trip for each driver and tractor.

Note: If the asset is not on an active trip, you see its most recently completed trip.

    • The child rows list all of a driver and tractor’s Planned trips nested below that asset’s active trip.

Note: You must add the nested row to your view.

  • Contains a free-form note field (mpp_note)

Entries recorded in this field display for a user-defined number of hours; the default is 72 hours.

Note: Entries in in the mpp_note field are not saved as historical records.

  • Includes lgh_extrainfo1, lgh_extrainfo2, and lgh-extrainfo3 as editable fields.

TruETA

Viewing TruETA data (NSUITE-203183, NSUITE-203181)

TruETA is a trip planning and execution tool that calculates estimated time of arrival (ETA) for each stop along a truck’s route. It is a cloud-based solution that automates the calculation of ETAs based on current vehicle position, driver Hours-of-Service (HOS) and real-time and predictive traffic patterns.

Now, you can view TruETA information in two places:

  • The TruETA tab in the Trip Folder

The tab displays the active trip’s route on a map. And below the map, it lists information about each stops:

    • Location

    • Status

    • Arrival and departure times

    • Trip duration time

  • The TruETA Company Planner board

This board lists trips for which TruETA calculations have been run. The system displays trip information, including the TruETA status, such as Early, Late, or At Risk. When you click a trip in the list, a map of the trip is shown.

Using TruETA without a locally installed version of ALK’s PC*MILER (NSUITE-203482)

In previous versions, TruETA required you to have ALK’s PC*MILER installed on your system.

Now, you can set up your system to calculate mileage based on calls to PC*MILER Web. A local version of PC*MILER is not required.

Resolved issues

Brokerage

  • NSUITE-204221
Customer is unable to enter emails into the contact tab that starts with a numeric value.

Common Dispatch Features

  • NSUITE-203330
Park and Hook window is not auto populating the driver associated with the specified tractor.

The user cannot add new hyperlinks with the Quick Designer.

  • NSUITE-204237
If you have a reference number that exists before consolidating, and then change it after consolidating, it changes the ord_hdrnumber to be the primary for that movement rather than keeping the order it should be on.

  • NSUITE-204377
When consolidating two orders, notes associated to the second order in the consolidation are no longer viewable in the notes tab after consolidating.

Company Planner

  • NSUITE-204319
Company planner throws DBNULL casting exception.

Order Maintenance

  • NSUITE-204169
If a reference mask has a space instead of a blank field, TMW will not allow the order to be saved even if the reference number is filled in.

Planning Worksheet

  • NSUITE-203606
A date issue is found on the PTA column. When you change a date in the PTA field to a different VALID date and then make another change to the same date but this time make the date invalid e.g. 2/29/2018. The date in the UI is reverted back to the original value but in SQL the last valid date is stamped on the column.

  • NSUITE-203992
GEH error when attempting to execute a report that does not contain values on specific parameter names.

Profiles

  • NSUITE-203468
Creating a new note for the Pay To profile results in the newly created note to disappear from view. This only occurs in the application if the Order Note and Profile checks are active.

Trip Folder

  • NSUITE-201594
Performance Enhancements for 16.25 to reduce the load time for Trip Folder.

  • NSUITE-204253
Fixed issue that was causing images on the Documents tab to display too small.

  • NSUITE-204303
When a Line Haul charge is computed that has a minimum charge in the Profit and Loss tab of the Operations Trip Folder, the orderheader ord_totalcharge is getting overstated by the MIN amount.
