Assigning resources

Order Maintenance allows you to assign resources to a trip using:

  • The All Stops tab

  • The Assign Driver/Equipment window

Using the All Stops tab

In Order Maintenance, you can use the resource fields on the Order Stops sub tab of the All Stops tab to assign assets.

  1. With the order opened in Order Maintenance, go to the All Stops tab.

  2. If necessary, select the Order Stops sub tab.

  3. For the first stop on the order, make entries in these fields as needed:

    Field Definition

    Tractor

Enter the ID of the tractor being used for the trip.

    Driver 1

Enter the ID of the lead driver who is to execute the trip.

    Driver 2

If applicable, enter the ID of the co-driver.

    Trailer 1

Enter the ID of the primary trailer being used for the trip.

    Trailer 2

If applicable, enter the ID of the secondary trailer.

If there is a load requirements mismatch with the assigned assets, or if active expiration(s) exist, the Save Warnings window opens. It provides details about the problems with the trip assignments.

Using the Assign Driver/Equipment window

To make resource assignments, you also can use the Assign Driver/Equipment window, which is accessed by clicking image4 Asset Assignment in the toolbar. The window can be used to:

  • Assign resources.

  • Start or complete a trip.

  • Specify whether the trip should begin and/or end with an empty move.

For more information about this window, see Assigning resources in the Assign Driver/Equipment window.
