Tractors

Access method:

  • Go to Tools > Scrolls > Tractor Scroll.

  • Press CTRL+T.

  • Place the cursor in a tractor field and press CTRL+ALT+S.

  • Place the cursor in a tractor field, right-click in the field, and select View Scroll.

  • In a tractor field, click image1 View Scroll.

The system retrieves tractors that match all restrictions entered on all sub tabs, not just those restrictions set on the sub tab currently in the front.

Tractor scroll - Quick Search tab

Use this sub tab to set restrictions based on tractor number, type, status, or driver ID. Restrictions entered in this tab are compared against data entered in tractor profiles in File Maintenance.

Number

Tractor ID.

TrcType1

TrcType1 classification to which the tractor was assigned.

Note: The field name and options are set up in the TrcType1 label in the Edit User Definable Fields window.

Driver ID

ID of the driver who last drove the tractor.

Include Retired Tractors?

Select the checkbox to include tractors with an Out of Service status in the list.

Note: When this box is checked the results will include tractors with an Out of Service status regardless of any status restriction selected in the TrcStatus field.

TrcStatus

Current tractor status such as Available, Planned (includes trips with Planned and/or Dispatched statuses), In Use (Started), In the Shop, Out of Service, etc.

Note: The options are set up in the TrcStatus label in the Edit User Definable Fields window.

Tractor scroll - Classifications tab

Use this sub tab to set restrictions based on user-defined entries on tractor profiles. Restrictions entered here are compared against data entered in tractor profiles in File Maintenance.

Company

Company classification to which the tractor was assigned.

Note: The field name is hard-coded, but the options are set up in the Company label in the Edit User Definable Fields window.

Terminal

Terminal classification to which the tractor was assigned.

Note: The field name is hard-coded, but the options are set up in the Terminal label in the Edit User Definable Fields window.

Division

Division classification to which the tractor was assigned.

Note: The options are set up in the Division label in the Edit User Definable Fields window.

Owner

ID of the tractor’s Pay To entity.

Fleet

Fleet classification to which the tractor was assigned.

Note: The field name is hard-coded, but the options are set up in the Fleet label in the Edit User Definable Fields window.

Tractor scroll - Tractor tab

Use this sub tab to set restrictions based on tractor identification information. Restrictions entered here are compared against data entered in tractor profiles in File Maintenance.

License State

State or province in which the tractor is licensed.

License Number

Tractor’s license number.

Serial Number

Tractor’s serial number.

Make

Engine manufacturer.

Model

Engine model.

Year

Tractor’s year of manufacture.

Tractor scroll - Accessories tab

Use this sub tab to set restrictions based on items attached to or carried by tractors. This is useful when you need a list of tractors that satisfy tractor-related load requirements for an order. Restrictions entered here are compared against data entered in the Tractor Accessory List window for tractor profiles in File Maintenance.

Tractor Accessories

Type of accessory found on the tractor.

Note: Tractor accessories are set up in the TrcAcc label in the Edit User Definable Fields window.

Quantity

Two fields exist for restricting on quantity:

  • In the first field, select an operator.

  • In the second field, enter a quantity.

Use this sub tab to set restrictions based on user-defined tractor classifications and remarks. Restrictions entered here are compared against data entered in tractor profiles in File Maintenance.

TrcType1-4

Classifications to which the tractor was assigned.

MiscInfo 1-4

Free-form comments recorded for the tractor.

Note: The field names are set up in the TrcMisc1-4 labels in the Edit User Definable Fields window.

Tractor scroll - Location tab

Use this sub tab to set restrictions based on tractor location.

City

City where the tractor is located currently, or (for a tractor with an In Use dispatch status) where it will be located when its current trip is finished.

State

State or province where the tractor is located currently, or (for a tractor with an In Use dispatch status) where it will be located when its current trip is finished.

Zip

Zip or postal code where the tractor is located currently, or (for a tractor with an In Use dispatch status) where it will be located when its current trip is finished.

Country

Country where the tractor is located currently, or (for a tractor with an In Use dispatch status) where it will be located when its current trip is finished.

Company

Company where the tractor is located currently, or (for a tractor with an In Use dispatch status) where it will be located when its current trip is finished.

Regions 1-4

Region designation for the place where the tractor is located currently, or (for a tractor with an In Use dispatch status) where it will be located when its current trip is finished.

Tractor scroll - Accessing the Profile window

When the list of tractor records is displayed, do one of the following:

  • Double-click on a tractor line.

    The profile window opens as a tab within TMW Operations. You can easily switch from one tab to another.

  • Select the tractor line, and then click the Profile button.

    The profile window opens as a separate window from TMW Operations. While this window is open you cannot access the TMW Operations window.

The Tractor Profile window for that tractor opens.

Tractor Name

Displays tractor name at the top of the profile window when any sub tab is selected.

Information

Displays general tractor profile data from File Maintenance. The data is grouped in these categories: General and Specifications.

Details

Displays information about the tractor’s acquisition, tractor availability, ACE, and axles. The data is grouped in these categories: Purchased, Info Only, ACE Compliance, and Axle Groups.

User Definables

Displays user-defined types and classifications that identify specific areas or actions that apply to the tractor. The data comes from the tractor profile in File Maintenance and is grouped in these categories: Types and Comments.

Expirations

Expirations are key activities and out-of-service dates that can affect the availability of a tractor.

Notes

Displays a list of free-form tractor notes and alerts. These notes/alerts are visible wherever a tractor can be viewed. The Notes tab displays these colors:

  • No color - no notes or alerts are available.

  • Yellow - there is a note for the tractor.

  • Red - there is an alert for the tractor.

  • If only notes are shown, a yellow band displays at the bottom of the window.

  • If only alerts are shown, a red band displays at the bottom of the window.

  • If both notes and alerts are shown, a red band displays at the bottom of the window, since alerts are of a more urgent nature than notes.

In the above example, both notes and alerts are listed.

Accessories

Displays a list of accessories items attached to or carried by the tractor. This is useful when you need a list of tractors that satisfy tractor-related load requirements for an order.
